Terms of Service
Draft. This text was written from what the code does and has not been reviewed yet. Placeholders in double brackets are decisions only the operator can make.
1. Acceptance
These terms are an agreement between you and [[OPERATOR]], who operates Graffiti. You accept them by adding Graffiti to a Discord server, signing in to the dashboard, or using a server where Graffiti runs. Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines apply too; where they conflict with these, Discord's win.
2. The service
Graffiti is a Discord bot and web dashboard offering moderation, link and image protection, tickets, voice rooms and community features. Features are off until a server's administrators switch them on.
Graffiti is not a guarantee. Its protection works from public threat-intelligence lists and image fingerprints, so it will sometimes miss something harmful and sometimes flag something harmless. It helps your moderators; it doesn't replace them.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must meet Discord's minimum age. Graffiti has no accounts of its own: signing in means signing in with Discord. To configure a server you must hold Administrator or Manage Server there; this is re-checked while you use the dashboard, so losing it removes your access.
4. Acceptable use
You may not:
- use Graffiti to break Discord's terms, or help anyone else do so;
- use it to harass, threaten, stalk or target anyone;
- try to reach data belonging to servers or accounts other than your own;
- work around a limit, a permission check or a Premium restriction;
- attack, overload or probe the service or the systems it runs on;
- resell Graffiti or present it as your own product, except by running a custom bot as described in section 6.
5. Server administrators' responsibilities
- You decide what is collected. Activity tracking, ticket transcripts, the Hall of Fame and the image database record something about your members, and each is your choice. Tell your members what you've enabled, and meet any legal obligations you have to them.
- Moderation decisions are yours. Bans, kicks, timeouts and removals are carried out on the instruction of your staff or rules they configured.
- What ends up in your server is yours. Transcripts, Hall of Fame posts and mod-log entries live in your Discord server.
- Images you add are your responsibility. Only add images you're entitled to keep a copy of, for the purpose of blocking them.
6. Custom bots
Premium servers can run Graffiti under a Discord application you create and own. If you do:
- The application is yours, and you're responsible for it under Discord's Developer Terms of Service and Developer Policy, including what it does while we run it for you.
- Your token is encrypted before it's stored. You can replace it or remove the bot at any time; removing it from the last server it serves deletes the token.
- A custom bot belongs to a server installation. Every administrator of that server can manage it there.
- If Premium stops applying to a server, the setup is kept but the bot stops serving it and Graffiti takes over. We may stop running an application used in breach of these terms.
7. Premium
Premium applies to a server, not an account. A plan grants a number of Premium servers, and you choose which of the servers you manage each applies to, and can move them. Every administrator of a Premium server gets the same features there, whoever provides it.
If your plan drops below the number of servers using it, the earliest-chosen stay Premium and the rest are paused; nothing is deleted, and nothing is reactivated automatically. Plans are currently granted by Graffiti's team; there is no payment through this site. [[PREMIUM_TERMS_IF_BILLING_IS_ADDED]]
8. Availability and changes
Graffiti is provided as is, and may be unavailable, change, or lose features. We'll try to announce significant changes in the support server.
9. Ending
You can stop using Graffiti at any time by removing it from your server. We may suspend or stop service to anyone who breaks these terms.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, [[OPERATOR]] isn't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for harm Graffiti failed to prevent. [[LIABILITY_CAP_AND_GOVERNING_LAW]]
