Moderation

Every punishment typed by a moderator or triggered by a filter goes through one engine. That is what keeps the log entry, the member's DM and the warning record consistent no matter what caused the action.

Commands

A timeout must be longer than zero and no more than 28 days, Discord's own limit, not Graffiti's.

Member lookup

/user gathers what a moderator normally has to piece together by hand: warning count, messages sent, voice time, account creation and join dates, flags for a new account or a recent join, roles, and the member's authority relative to yours.

What the member is told

If DM on punishment is enabled under General Settings, the member receives a direct message naming the server, the action, the reason and the duration where one applies. Discord does not let anyone DM a member who has closed their DMs; when that happens, the log entry records that the notice did not arrive.

Logging

Set a Mod Log Channel under General Settings › System Channels. Each entry carries the action, the target, the moderator, the reason, the duration where relevant, any evidence image, and the delivery status of the DM.

Manual actions are mirrored

Bans, unbans, kicks, timeouts and untimeouts performed through Discord's own interface right-clicking a member, or another bot acting are picked up from the audit log and logged in the same format, with the same DM to the member. Moderators do not have to change how they work for the log to stay complete.

Warnings

Warnings are stored per server and shown in /user. They are a record, not an automatic escalation ladder: Graffiti will not act on a warning count by itself.
